Ninguém fica indiferente a tudo o que se passa em Portugal. Obviamente eu também não. A minha conclusão é simples estão todos metidos nesta balbúrdia, Governo, PS, PSD, media e o Zé Povinho...

Governo porque tem obviamente culpas no cartório: corrupção, abuso de poder, favoritismo...

O PS por motivos óbvios.

O PSD porque sempre se deitou na mesma cama. E a distância do poder deixa muita gente e muitos interesses nervosos, pelo que há que solucionar a questão de qualquer forma e a qualquer preço. Tivesse eu muitas dúvidas quanto a isto e as declarações de Paulo Rangel esta tarde, alegando que o robleça por trás de tudo isto são as golden shares do Estado em empresas como a PT, faz-me pensar que interesses representa o Sr. Rangel...

Os media porque há muito mostraram que não são independentes. Obviamente que não... Têm demasiado poder e usam e abusam dele, pelo que nunca poderão escapar da alçada dos todo-poderosos. Ou alguém acredita na boa vontade e isenção de Moniz, Guedes, Crespo e Cia.

E o culpado principal é o Zé Povinho, que sempre tolerou abusos, desde as cunhas, às empresas falidas, aos boys, às derrapagens orçamentais, às fugas aos impostos, aos empreiteiros favorecidos, às benesses à banca, aos políticos dirigentes desportivos, etc., etc.

Concluindo, estão todos à mesma mesa de jogo, e nesta roleta russa todos sabem que cabeças rolarão e outros levarão o pote, pelo que todos jogam no tudo ou nada...

Mas todos sabemos quem, no final das contas, se licha...

Ministro das Obras Públicas garante que portagens nas Scut vão avançar em breve

É revoltante ver quando governantes, para além de não defenderem os interesses das populações, atentam contra o bem-estar dos governados.

Portajar a A28 com base no argumento de que a EN13 é uma alternativa, é não apenas irresponsável, é criminoso. É o resultado de uma política centralista, que desconhece os reais problemas do país, que hipocritamente apelida esta estrada de "Nacional" quando a mesma é, de facto, e desde há muito, uma combinação de estradas municipais atravessando inúmeras povoações.

Não é possível a alguém de bom-senso e boa-fé ignorar que tal medida resultará infelizmente num aumento do número de vítimas nesta estrada. Infelizmente o Sr. Ministro passará incólume e irá certamente ignorar o número e o nome das vítimas que resultarão desta dramática decisão. Tivesse este senhor consciência, e esta pesar-lhe-ia certamente o suficiente para que tivesse a coragem de fazer o que é devido.

Mas a culpa não pode morrer solteira, ou melhor, no leito do Sr. Ministro. As populações do Litoral Norte devem também responsabilizar-se pela falta de peso político crónico desta região. Só assim é possível que o Governo central ignore sistematicamente as necessidades desta região e que uma região do Litoral apresente índices de desenvolvimento de interior norte (a região menos desenvolvida e mais esquecida do país, porque o interior centro e sul têm feito pela vida).

SCUT: Câmaras do Litoral Norte unidas na luta para impedir portagens na A-28

Há muito que nos habituamos à expressão "Portugal é Lisboa, o resto é paisagem" ou a ouvir os alfacinhas (a grande maioria adoptivos) a referirem-se à maioria do país como 'a província'.

Os nossos políticos, anjos em queda, rendem-se a esta corrente - o país que (lhes) interessa está em Lisboa e no Algarve, onde gostam de ir de férias ou de fim-de-semana. E depois dá nestas políticas descabidas.

O Litoral norte, em particular Viana, esperou dezenas de anos por uma via rápida para o Porto. A mesma foi adiada sucessivamente, a última das vezes porque, com a eliminação das portagens na CREL, deixou de haver dinheiro para concluí-la.

Finalmente o século XXI (e apenas graças ao afamado orçamento do queijo limiano) viu esta VR terminada. Aliás, foi graças a Campelo que algumas das promessas aos alto-minhotos, que eram sucessivamente adiadas, se concretizaram com esse tal orçamento.

Entretanto ainda se espera por uma ligação a Espanha. Mais umas décadas talvez...

Curiosament, essa tão esperada Via-Rápida é rapidamente promovida a Auto-Estrada e em breve será portajada. Sem haver alternativa (quem afirmar que a N13 é uma alternativa deveria ser obrigado a viver na berma dessa estrada, com carros a passarem a centimetros da porta de casa, como infelizmente acontece nesta estrada) ...

Não compreendo como se tomam decisões destas, tão desfazadas da realidade. Depois admiram-se que o Alto Minho, sendo litoral, apresente níveis de desenvolvimento de interior.

E por fim questiono-me: já se pagará portagem na CREL?

Europe and the rest of the world are facing an unprecedented threat – one for which we cannot mobilize our armies against, for which it doesn’t work to close our borders or to vaccinate our population.

This is a threat were we are our own enemies and so is everyone else, including other animals.

And we are all puzzled, not knowing how to deal with it. Or actually we know, we are just not ready to commit to it. Why? Because we don’t trust ourselves, because we don’t trust each other, because we don't want to adapt to a new reality, to make changes on our living patterns, because we are frogs in a boiling pan.

But we know it: climatic changes are occuring due to the action of humankind! Unfortunately we have been convinced of this too late, because several economical and political (are they different?) interests prevented the majority of us from realising this earlier. We have lost 20 years, thanks to hill minded and/or incompetent administrations.

There's something to be done, still! Though, if we want to control GHG emissions we need to act quickly. Some studies indicate that if we want to keep the global warming within an increase of 2°C by 2050, we need to reduce the GHG emissions by 80%. The questions is that GHG is not only CO². Some of the emissions such as those of methane are hard to avoid, not to mention the ones resulting from natural processes. Therefore, if we want to reduce GHG by 80% by 2050, we need to have a (100%) carbon free economy. And if we want it them, we need to act now, to settle targets for 2020, for tomorrow, for today!

Is it possible? Yes, why not!? Are we ready for it? Maybe not. Are we committed? NO.

There are out there different possibilities to cover our energy needs from renewable sources and we need to look seriously into them.

Some of the criticism is that they are expensive. This is mostly true - some of the renewable energies are cost competitive today within certain conditions but most are still too expensive compared to fossil fuels or nuclear energy... Are they? Are we accounting for the real costs of fossil fuels and nuclear energy? Or are we again being deceived by economical and political interests?

What do we need to account for to estimate the real cost of fossil fuels? Are we accounting for the environmental hazard? Are we accounting for the security of supply risks? Are we accounting for the military costs of defending or ensuring access to fossil fuels supply? Because most of the costs of fossil fuels are not seen in our gas or electricity bill, are not paid by us in the gas station but rather through our taxes.

Or let’s take for instance nuclear energy. Can anyone put a price tag on a nuclear accident hazard? Can anyone really estimate the cost of disposing of nuclear waste? And what about the safety threat to our populations? If we can’t prevent Somali pirates from taking merchant ships, how can we prevent them or terrorists from capturing a vessel transporting nuclear waste? If they go with navy escort, who is paying for it? If we promote nuclear energy as a solution for the future, are we going to prevent developing countries to access it? Assuming we don’t, how are we going to prevent nuclear weapons proliferation, ie, similar situations to the one we’re facing in Iran today?

Of course renewable energies have gaps. Wind is not constant? Right, but we can solve this issue by developing our grids. Solar heating and cooling or solar power do not provide energy for 24 hours? True, but we surely can develop new technology to provide better storage solutions. These energies are, in general, too expensive. Indeed, but let's acelerate the market deployment and the learning curve to reduce them.

So it's time to act! It's time to stop with excuses! It's time to start to break loose from fossil fuels (and nuclear)! It's time to demand from politicians to do the right thing! At least this once...

Há cerca de um ano que não escrevo no blog.

Um interregno derivado mais pela falta de tempo ou de vontade de escrever do que pela falta de assunto. Neste ano muita coisa mudou na minha vida. Para melhor, muito melhor. Um novo emprego do qual gosto bastante, que me desafia e motiva, embora me tome mais tempo do que esperava e me traga por vezes doses acrescidas de stress...

Mas sobretudo uma nova vida a dois, com a partilha de momentos mágicos e únicos, também com desafios e sobretudo com muita alegria.

Um ano, nada mais que um momento, apenas uma eternidade.

Yes, you can.

Obama’s election was a refreshing piece of news coming from the USA. For a change.

I think that, besides the inspiring attitude of Barack Obama, most of the people in the rest of the world were relieved to get reed of a Republican Administration in the USA, after 8 years of a nightmare called Bush & Co.

I’m not sure if he was the most powerful man in the world, because I think we was not a free will person. But even though, he demonstrated that the USA President can harm hugely the world as a whole, from the smallest village on a remote location to the entire planet. In some cases for what he intentionally did, in other cases for what he intentionally did not do. Not to mention the times he just screwed up.

Now it is time for Obama to prove to the world that he can live up to the expectations and deliver some good to his country, the rest of the world and the planet.

Huge burden, especially when we consider the mess that the Bush/Republican Administration left behind. I deeply fear that he will have to dedicate himself to tidying up over the coming the 4 years, consequently falling short to the expectations, to see the Republicans taking over in 4 years.

I don’t know if he can make it, but I surely hope so. And this is what Obama has been great at, giving people hope.

And I also hope that the USA could become a different country after this. Again, I’m skeptic. 48% of the US Americans voted for McCain. 48% !!! It was not such a big Obama We Can Wave as the media try to show. Half of the US American population still believe in a Republican Administration. After all they did!!!

And they voted for a “not so liberal after all” conservative McCain. In an irrationally conservative Pallin. Forgive me for not head-diving into this hope wave but the USA as a long way to go in order to regain my confidence and respect -not that they are very relevant for them J

And I really get angry when I hear that the USA gave a lesson of democracy to the world. As some say, it is not only about electing a black (actually a mestee, as he is as white as he is black) President, but also for electing a President coming from a humble background. If the US Americans were not so full of themselves, they would understand that this is no lesson to most of the developed world.

Finally, their great democracy translated a vote of 52% to Obama and 46% to McCain into a 67% to 30% representation at the electoral college. This same system as also allowed Bush to win with a lower number of votes. How can they teach the world a lesson of democracy when they use a highly distorted electoral system, dated from the 18^th century?

Not to mention the length of the campaign and the billions of dollars spent.

I do hope that Obama can lead the change. And have the USA to become more aware of their situation, looking into their problems and the serious social problems affecting big parts of the population. And if they acknowledge the real USA, I wouldn’t be surprised that they would be more humble…

That is the change I can believe in…

Sinto-me revoltado !

Muito sucintamente, por falta de tempo e para não entrar na parte em que começo a chamar nomes feios aos gregos, vou tentar explicar porque.

A Republica da Macedónia pretende entrar para a NATO. Não sendo um grande apologista da NATO, a verdade é que compreendo. A Macedónia tem como vizinhos países como a Sérvia, a Grécia, a Bulgária e a Albânia, que são talvez os casos mais exacerbados de nacionalismo na Europa.

O problema é que o seu pedido de adesão tem a forte oposição de Grécia. Porque? Bem, a Grécia não aceita que a Republica da Macedónia se chame Republica da Macedónia.

A troca de argumentos de parte a parte é interminável e não quero entrar nessa discussão (para não começar aqui a insultar os gregos e as suas mães).

Para mim a questão é: um Estado soberano pretende escolher o nome para outro Estado soberano.

Ridículo, não? Talvez, não fosse um desses países um pequeno país de dois milhoes de habitantes emanado da antiga Jugoslávia e o outro um pais membro da UE, da NATO,onde toda a gente gosta de ir de férias e cheio de emigrantes nos Estados Unidos.

Resultado: a Macedónia é reconhecida na UN como FYROM – Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (Antiga Republica Jugoslava da Macedónia).

A não ser que aceitem mudar o nome a bel-prazer dos Gregos, estes ameaçam com o veto a entrada da Macedónia na NATO.

E são estes os nossos aliados?

Espero que ao menos Portugal possa ter uma atitude coerente nesta Cimeira. Para ao menos nos diferenciarmos deste nacionalismo arrogante e prepotente dos gregos.

I can´t hide my frustration. Porto was eliminated from the Champions League! And it was terribly unfair. Except for one player: Manuel Neuer!!!

This 21 years old keeper had an amazing match, even more than in the home match. Basically, Schalke had the merit (but also a huge dosage of luck) to score in the first 3 minutes in Gelsenkirchen. And then defended most of the following 170 minutes. Porto has to blame itself for wasting innumerous opportunities, at least a dozen of them obvious, to score over the two matches. But we can also blame Manuel Neuer for the most incredible performance I've seen over the last years.

I've never seen him playing before but after these two matches I don't understand how can Lehmann still be the goalkeeper of the Mannschaft. Reflexes, speed, agility, nerves, confidence, drive... This kid showed all the qualities you need to be a perfect keeper.

And this is the beauty of football: though I'm terribly disappointed by the result, I can't avoid being fascinated by the amazing performance of this outstanding player that will for sure give football many wonderful moments.

Did I mention he also saved two penalties?
Anyway, here you have an example of the impossible saves he did...

I haven't made up my mind yet but I was glad to see that Hillary got the last polls.

As a CNN reporter said, these were the most criticial polls since the last critical polls... So I guess this was a critical victory for Hillary since her last critical victory.

I don't support either of them and I support both! Therefore I prefer this because everyone gets a chance to know a bit better both candidates.

This is a video of a group of forcados doing a “pega de caras”. It consists of a group of 8 “forcados”, barehanded, lining up in front of a bull and, when being aimed by it, trying to grab the bull one after the other until they subdue him.

This is part of a typical Portuguese bullfight (and only the Portuguese one, I think). Whatever you think of bullfights, this is a remarkable display of bravery.

In this case it went in a very bad way and the front man got hit badly. And his colleagues just show amazing comradery in trying to protect him… BRAVO!

I woke up to hear in the news that Belgium was denouncing the misuse of the name Luxembourg, claiming that the name was, as demonstrated by history, belonging to the Belgian region of Luxembourg. As a result, they were not recognising the passports of the citizens of this territory and demanded that they changed their name to “Gran Duchy of the Lower Luxembourg”.

Then, in the same news block I heard that Romania was holding talks under the UN patronage with the country that called itself Republic of Moldova and that Romania recognised only as Former Soviet Republic of Moldova, because the name this country claimed could only, has everyone in the world knows, be used by the Romanian region of Moldavia. On the negotiation table there were several names and it seemed the Romanian could only agree to something like “Republic of New Moldova” or “Republic of Western Moldova”.

I became completely puzzled. Are this people completely crazy? Where did these extreme nationalistic views come out from? Are the Belgians or the Romanians afraid that their national heritage is diminished by other countries name? Are they afraid of expansionist claims from these dangerous world powers, Luxembourg and Moldova? Or are they afraid that the regions of their countries that they claimed has being so much part of their country do not feel it so clearly?

Then I woke hope... I looked around still a bit shaken by all the strange things I just heard about! Could it be? Maybe... Yes, it was just a nightmare. Uffffff This one seemed to be really true. My heart is still beating like crazy.

It's still early and I decide to go back to sleep. Took me so time though, so shaken I was.

Later I hear on the radio news that Greece is strongly supporting the entry of the Republic of Macedonia into the EU, explaining that the Greek campaign against the use by their neighbour country of the name Macedonia is long left behind and was just an unfortunate event in the modern Greek history and that ... Dammit! I just woke up. Bloody hell !!! This was such a nice dream... OK, let me go back to sleep quickly to see if I can still catch it...

Therefore, it is natural that several countries declared their refusal to recognise the independence of Kosovo. Amongst those, we have obviously two world powers: Russia and China, that being immense and diverse (by the way, as new emerging powers like India and Brazil) have much to fear from what just happened in this tinny balkan state.

In a period where world order is rapidly changing, with the economical and political weight of the “old powers” being at stake, throwing a seed for separatism could be a way to tame the economic growth and consequent international influence of the new and the emerging powers.

The question is that amongst the old powers, one has not much to loose while the other as a lot at stake in this game. Is Europe ready to take the concept of variable geometry into it's ultimate level?

If you have any doubts about how many separatist movements are there in European countries, just take a look at the membership of the European Free Alliance (grouping political parties in Europe claiming political independence or self-government for their territory).

If that is the way Europe has to go, fine. All I hope is that our politicians can be coherent with their options in this matter. Therefore, can we assume that we are ready to accept an unilateral declaration of independence in the Basque Country? Or will we now recognise the unilateral declaration of independence of Taiwan? And why don't we push Morocco to accept a self-determination referendum in Western Sahara? Or even, when will we ensure the recognition of the russian speaking minorities in the Baltic States?

But I guess I expect too much. European countries and their politicians are becoming too arrogant in their policies and applying double standards, or rather multiple standards, in their policies.

This is the reason of my disappointment with our political leaders today. They are not courageous and upfront enough to coherently lead based in principles instead of conveniences!

Toda a gente concentra as suas atenções no Kosovo e nas implicações geopolíticas da proclamação de independência. Mas ao mesmo tempo vem-me a ideia uma questão acessória. E os Kosovares? Será que a independência é o melhor para eles?

Por certo que esta segunda proclamação de independência (a outra, em 1990, não teve grande impacto mediático ou politico) resulta da vontade da maioria do povo Kosovar, desejosos de encetar um caminho de desenvolvimento do qual se viram afastados por anos de negligencia dos sérvios e de indiferença do resto da Europa.

Todos os analistas são unânimes em afirmar que o Kosovo ira necessitar de um forte apoio económico da UE e dos EUA. E estes parecem disponíveis para continuar a injectar fundos neste território. A grande questão é, como de costume (infelizmente) se esses fundos irão realmente contribuir para a melhoria do bem estar da população ou se se irão perder em teias de corrupção. E esta preocupação agrava-se quando estamos na presença de um território nas mãos do crime organizado, em que o Primeiro-Ministro do Governo Kosovar, Hashim Thaçi, é ele mesmo um dos lideres. Alias, este problema é partilhado pelos Estados vizinhos, como o Montenegro e a Albânia.

E assim a União Europeia conseguiu a muito custo mas de forma perseverante colocar-se uma vez num beco sem saída: apoiar uma população necessitada ou encher de dinheiro lideres corruptos?

Espero que para a população as coisas melhorem, mas acima de tudo que esta declaração de independência desenvolva nos Kosovares o sentimento de propriedade em relação ao seu futuro e que o façam através da pratica democrática e do respeito pelas diferenças.

Bruxelas é uma cidade que não arrebata ninguém de imediato mas que consegue encantar qualquer um com os seus pequenos encantos. E para um português um desses encantos são os pequenos recantos onde podemos encontrar refúgio junto da restante tugalhada, seja na zona de S. Gilles ou Flagey.

Mas existem também cantinhos portugueses espalhados um pouco por todo o lado. Lá irei noutra altura.

Agora, encontrar vestígios de tugalidade numa estacão de metro já é algo mais estranho. A verdade é que existem em várias estacoes de metro painéis de azulejos feitos em Portugal, mesmo se os autores são belgas.

Porém, no metro Botanique os autores, tanto o que serve de motivo à obra como o que a criou são bem portugueses. E a obra é um espectacular mural de Fernando Pessoa realizado porJúlio Pomar.

Nas várias vezes que o vi fiquei intrigado sobre o porque de tal obra em tal sitio. Sera que Pessoa teria vivido também em Bruxelas e deixado marca na commune de Saint-Josse-ten-Noode? A explicação é mais prosaica - foi uma oferta do estado português aquando da Europália em 92. E assim nasceu mais um agradável recanto tuga na capital europeia...

Woluwe-Saint-Lambert (en néerlandais Sint-Lambrechts-Woluwe) est l'une des 19 communes bilingues de Belgique située dans la Région de Bruxelles-Capitale.

Elle comptait 48.315 habitants au 1^er janvier 2007 pour une superficie de 7,22 km², lui donnant une densité de 6 641 habitants/km². Elle est située dans l'est de l'agglomération bruxelloise.

Elle est limitrophe des communes bruxelloises d'Evere, d'Etterbeek, de Schaerbeek et de Woluwe-Saint-Pierre, ainsi que des communes de Kraainem et de Zaventem.

Le sud-est de Bruxelles, et particulièrement les deux Woluwe (l'autre étant Woluwe-Saint-Pierre), articulé autour du square Montgomery, est devenu le quartier par excellence de l'aristocratie et de la grande bourgeoisie, que l'on a parfois tendance à opposer à Uccle, plus orienté vers les hauts revenus. On compare souvent les deux Woluwe aux VII^e ou XVI^e arrondissements parisiens ; hôtels de maître et immeubles cossus se côtoient sur les grandes artères prestigieuses qui délimitent le quartier : avenue de Tervueren, avenue de Broqueville, boulevard Saint-Michel, entre autres. La commune est multiforme avec des quartiers plus "select", mais aussi plus de 10% d'habitations sociales.

Les deux communes doivent leur nom à la Woluwe, petite rivière dont la vallée les traverse. Longtemps à l’abandon, elle est à présent assainie et ses abords ont été aménagés en promenade, reliant différents parcs et leurs étangs, le parc de Woluwe, le parc des sources, le parc Malou, et longe plusieurs vestiges du patrimoine ancien, le moulin de Lindekemale, l’ancienne ferme Hof-ter-Musschen (ferme des moineaux), ou le Slot, ancienne aile du château des comtes de Hinnisdael construit au début du XVI^e siècle. Une autre branche de la promenade suit le tracé d’une ancienne voie de chemin de fer, dont les ponts on été remplacés par des passerelles cyclistes et piétonnes.

À Woluwe-Saint-Lambert se trouvent la Faculté de Médecine et les Cliniques universitaires Saint-Luc de l'Université catholique de Louvain. Aux bâtiments universitaires sont venues s'ajouter plusieurs Hautes écoles d'éducation physique, de kinésithérapie, de biologie médicale et de soins infirmiers. Environ 10 000 étudiants fréquentent le site de Woluwe-Saint-Lambert.

Au printemps 2006 a été inauguré l'ambitieux village culturel et salle de spectacle Wolubilis.

A long time without writing. It is not synonym of lack of inspiration or interest in the blog. In fact, several times ideas for posts crossed my mind. In fact, the truth is that after spending a full day in front of the computer, while on holidays or when back home from work I prefer to think of my laptop more has a DVD player than a blogspot interface.

A lot went on since the last post (wow, one month and a half ago). I went home for Christmas and New Year, just after spending a couple of nice days with many colleagues in the staff retreat. Holidays were great as usual and actually to good to speak of them in a short post.

Back in Brussels, January was a quite a hectic month. Starting with work, the first three months of the year are as usual very busy and delicate. I'm lucky to have a great team that helped to lighten up the burden during January. Even more considering there was a Bureau meeting mid-January, in Recklinghausen (Germany). Apart from work, I had to dedicate a lot of my free time to the post-graduate I'm doing. My group had a paper to finish and a presentation to prepare. Fortunately everything went well and now we have some holidays to recover and start preparing other works and a couple of exams.

But the best part of January was the final one. I took almost a week off to spend some special moments with a very special visit.

Well, in fact the very end of the month did not go that well. I'm now at home recovering from a “trachéíte”, that has been bothering me for the last week. As an awful sick person I am, I'm eager to go back to work tomorrow and start to get out of the way all the work that February encompasses.

Though, while I have some free time to spare, Ill keep thinking of the great days we had just a week ago...

Esta noite a RTPi transmite os Prós e Contras sobre a Cimeira Euro-África e o Tratado de Lisboa.

Durante a discussão do Tratado, num debate que julgo que todos consideram uma questão séria e importante, independentemente da opinião sobre o mesmo, destaca-se Miguel Portas, pelo seu discurso irritantemente demagógico. Curiosa a parceria de ocasião com Pacheco Pereira.

O que aconteceu ao Bloco? Será que perdeu capacidade para um debate político provocador mas sério? Será que esgotou a cartilha? Ou será que caiu um anjo?

PS: Para ilustrarem que o Tratado é mau, MP e JPP lêm artigos indecifráveis. Mais, criticam o facto de o Tratado tirar poder à Comissão (!) e reforçar o poder do Conselho (Governos) e Parlamento (ou seja, dos eleitos). Ou ainda, quesitonam como se resolverá a crise no Kosovo à luz do novo Tratado ... Ah, e gosto de ver estudantes de fato e gravata a perguntar porque não se fazem debates públicos! Melhor, a exigirem que o Governo, os media e a sociedade civil organisem estes debates enquanto justificam porque não os organisam eles mesmos... Enfim, mais queijo para a ratoeira!

Para a semana volto a Portugal! Parece que o Natal vem aí e devemos voltar aos nossos. E é isso que farei. Por vias travessas...

Vou voar para Vigo. Porquê? Porque reservando com um mês de antecedência os vôos para o Porto já custavam mais de 500 euros. Assim, decidi voar para Vigo por menos de 300.

Mas lamento... lamento não voar para o meu país e para um aeroporto (agora) com excelentes condições e em que se gastaram milhões para logo o marginalisar.

A verdade é que, sendo eu de Viana, entre ir para Vigo (85 km em +/- 1h)ou para o Porto (70 km em +/- 40m) a diferença não é muita. Por isso vou experimentar. E os mais de 200 euros justificam bem a experiência e os 20 minutos de diferença.

Agora, a questão que se coloca é porque são os vôos para o Porto tão caros? Na minha humilde opinião, pela política centralista da TAP e da ANA. A TAP tem um (sim um, não dois, nem dez, um) vôo directo para Bruxelas. E a alternativa oferecida (pela TAP) passa pela escala em Lisboa.

A ligação por Lisboa tem óbvias desvantagens em termos ecológicos e de tempo. Mas gostava que alguém me explicasse quais são as vantagens económicas. Ah, e se me disserem que não há suficientes passageiros de Bruxelas para o Porto para mais que um vôo diário, retribuirei de duas formas: um sorriso cínico de dúvida e uma sugestão gratuita - que pelo menos um dos quatro vôos diários para Lisboa faça escala no Porto. Simplesmente porque fica a caminho...

Até porque tão cedo não me apanham a fazer escala em Lisboa para ir para o Porto. Já experimentei o excelente serviço oferecido pela ANA para as ligações internas (o chamado terminal 2) e gostei tanto da experiência que não quero repeti-la para não estragar a recordação. E como patriota que sou, já que fazem tanto esforço para nos convencer de que a Portela está sobrelotada, dou o meu pequeno contributo para desanuviar o aeroporto e evito fazer lá escala.

Afinal de contas, Vigo está tão perto!

PS: A Ryanair começa as ligações Porto-Charleroi em Março. Vamos a ver o que mudará...

De regresso. 2 meses e meio depois. Falta de tempo, de vontade, blablabla... Entretanto, ferias em casa - nao podia perder as Festas da Agonia :-) -, oportunidade de matar saudades da familia, amigos, cidade. A juntar a isto uma celebracao de anos a estender-se por varios dias, desde Viana a Lisboa, passando pelo Porto ;-) Um curto regresso ao trabalho para partir para uma reuniao na Eslovenia. Depois, reencontro com a K, uma vez mais na Croacia. Regresso ao trabalho. Muito. Comeco uma pos-graduacao (Gestion d'Entreprises d'Economie Sociale). Degladio-me com falta de tempo para tudo, porque penso sempre que posso fazer mais ou mais depressa do que realmente consigo. Avaria no laptop. Reentre da epoca das series. Vejo o Earl, aguco o apetite para os Herois e divirto-me com os Scrubs. Mais trabalho. E mais trabalho. Menos curso. Menos eu. Salto a Berlim para uma viagem indesejada. Regresso sem bagagens a Bruxelas para voltar a reencontrar a K...

Não tenho escrito muito ultimamente. E a principal razão têm sido férias e o efeito colateral da acumulação de demasiadas coisas para resolver entretanto.

No final de Junho e início de Julho tive a oportunidade de repetir duas das minhas primeiras viagens. Em 1994 à Sérvia, naquela que foi a minha primeira viagem sozinho e em 1995 à Roménia, na minha primeria deslocação ao estrangeiro com a AIESEC.

Directa ou indirectamente, estas duas viagens forma extremamente marcantes na minha vida e abriram um caminho que me trouxe hoje até Bruxelas. Já tinha estado posteriormente em ambos os países, mas este regresso, passados mais de dez anos, permitiu-me uma introspecção sobre o que foi o meu percurso neste treze anos.

Não me revelou ainda qual o caminho a enveredar no futuro mas deixou-me certamente mais perto.

Julgo que já se estava a tornar evidente, mas agora é oficial e como tal merece um anúncio formal qb.

Avisam-se todas as pessoas que por algum erro de navegação tenham vindo parar neste recanto escondido deste mundo virtual, que este blog deixa, a partir de hoje, de ter o Português como língua oficial.

Alguns pessimistas, dada a relevância deste espaço na blogosfera, poderão ver nisto mais um implacável ataque ao nosso idioma, ou pior, mais uma batalha perdida na guerra da afirmação do Português no mundo. Pois bem, pela parte que me toca, a afirmação deve vir pela sã convivência e partilha. E há tanto e tão bom neste mundo para além das fronteiras do nosso país e da nossa língua...
